Shop Welder
Welders of this company work up to 9 hour shifts, regularly lift and carry 75 lbs, weld off scaffolding, work around heavy equipment in a very fast-paced production environment. Drug-free environment.
Preferred: At least 5 years structural steel fabrication experience, welding certifications or ability to become certified, willing to work in the shop or field, safety training
Job Requirements:
- Must be drug-free at all times

- Shop welders work quickly and efficiently; candidate needs to be able to keep up with production
- Ability to stand for 9 hour shifts
- Follow verbal procedures
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Work on scaffolding/heights in a commercial construction setting
- Self-motivated
- Must be able to read and decipher shop drawings
- Must possess keen eyesight and hand-eye coordination
- Must have basic math and verbal communication skills
- Must able to stoop, stand, bend and work in awkward positions to complete welding duties
- Often are required to do their work at a great height on a scaffold
- Be able to access online safety training within first week
- Required for field work: Hard Hat, Welding Hood, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots & proper welding attire

- Complete and return Application of Employment before scheduled interview/weld test
- Must be able to attend in-person interview, required weld test (info below) & take drug screen at an Albuquerque, NM location
- Welding test: 6 plates total
- 1. SMAW – Weld Rod Test – 7018 (2G, 3G,4G)
- ⅜ plate
- ¼ backing strip
- 2. SMAW – Weld Rod Test – 7010 (2G, 3G)
- 3. FCAW Wire Weld Test – NR-211-MP (2G, 3G,4G)
- 1. SMAW – Weld Rod Test – 7018 (2G, 3G,4G)
- Welding test: 6 plates total
